I attended the EDGE Youth Leadership Seminar in May 2017. The 3 days spent at EDGE were easily three of the most life-changing days I have ever encountered. I learned how to find and embrace my leadership style and realized that you don't have to be loud or an extrovert to be a great leader. I was compelled to continue working with EDGE and now hold several roles within the organization. Last year, I got to be a J-Crew leader, member of the Alumni Committee, and represent as an Alumni Ambassador. This year, I will be attending EDGE as a member on both the Alumni and Program Committees and the head of the Alumni Ambassador Program.

Being so involved in this non-profit organization over the past 3 years has given me insight into the endless effort poured into creating something so successful. The adults who attend the late night meetings after returning from a long day at work, the college students who find any way possible to attend the three-day seminar they put so much time into planning, the students who return to help guide the people who were in their shoes a year or two prior; all of these people gather to grow as individuals and welcome new people into the unique community we call EDGE.

Every year, we bring 100+ high school sophomores (one from as many high schools in NorCal as possible) to a leadership seminar. Students do not pay to attend and the seminar is funded entirely through donations, so I am asking for your support by donating any amount to contribute to the following costs: 

$50 - covers the cost of meals for one student for the entire weekend

$100 - covers the cost of lodging for one student for one day

$250 - covers the costs of three 1 staff member for the weekend

$350 - covers most costs for 1 student for the entire weekend
