1 word 7 letters that shaped my experience at EDGE. With just one word, I received nothing but love and support, a reoccurring theme at EDGE.

Last year, I attended EDGE’s yearly conference where I was able to develop my leadership skills, empathy, and self-confidence. It pushed me to venture out of my comfort zone, like being on stage in front of the entire delegation. At the conference, I was able to exchange ideas with students coming from both large schools and small towns on how to improve our schools and communities.

After growing up surrounded by the same group of students, it was such an eye-opening experience for me to learn about the different struggles other students faced and get a new perspective in the issues I wished to address.

One of the aspects that makes EDGE an amazing organization is that it is free of cost for the sophomores. This allows EDGE to reach out to students who would not otherwise be able to attend and adds to the diversity in perspectives. The amazing impact of EDGE is why I am returning as a JCrew this year to help guide a group of sophomores throughout the conference.
